To celebrate our 3rd year as "adopted kiwis" we coupled up with our good friends who migrated to NZ from Canada for a 3 day trek of the Hollyford. Nothing like good NZ fresh air, water and beautiful scenery. This is an amazing trek that allows you to connect with the Fiordland - the real South Island. Our guides from Ngai Tahu Tourism were exceptional. They educated us on the history of the region, the vegetation and ensured the 16 of us all had a good time. The hardship the early settlers endured made us realise the role early settlers have played in the making of NZ. We did not suffer much hardship on this track the cabins were comfortable and we were well fed with gourmet style meals each evening.
